A major change for the Danish forest landscape

The Danish government recently agreed on an ambitious climate deal aimed at planting a billion trees and converting 10% of agricultural land into forests over the next two decades.

Danish legislators consider this agreement as ‘the biggest change in the Danish landscape for more than 100 years’.

43 billion crowns (€5.76 billion) will be invested in converting agricultural land into forest and natural habitats.

As a reminder, Denmark had already made a historic declaration last June with the announcement of a carbon tax on livestock farming. From 2030, methane emissions from livestock will be taxed, a world first.
