Training

Technical training is the core business of Forêt.Nature.

We have been providing continuous professional training to all agents of the Department of Nature and Forests of the Walloon Public Service (SPW) for over 35 years based on a prior analysis of on-the-ground needs.

We also train owners, forest experts, naturalists, entrepreneurs and operators, municipal and provincial staff, students and teachers, as well as agents from the Nature and Forest Administration (Luxembourg) and Brussels Environment.

Our knowledge of the territory, stakeholders, and all stakeholders in the forest-wood sector is complemented by numerous field feedback gathered in Belgium or in the European Union from managers/owners.

All this experience is capitalized and put at the service of managers with:

  • An active pedagogical approach. It is above all about sharing the experiences accumulated by trainers and beneficiaries.
  • Assurance of being at the forefront of innovation because we work on the entire results of forest scientific research through our partnerships with universities (ULiège, UCLouvain, and AgroParisTech).
  • Documented, adapted, and decentralized field devices.
  • Technical training brochures accompanying practical exercises.
  • Systematic evaluation of our modules by beneficiaries.
  • An offer of recycling and individualized support.

Pedagogical Principles of Forêt.Nature's Training:

  • Modules based on the expectations of beneficiaries following the prior analysis of needs (evaluation tools and field feedback) >> efficiency principle.
  • Training on and by the field to facilitate managers' ownership and better respond to the challenges they face daily >> reality principle.
  • Working with managers and not in their place >> transmission principle.
  • Training and support animation based on the sharing of beneficiaries' experiences
    >> subsidiarity principle.
  • Ensuring mutual reinforcement between modules and support >> coherence principle.
  • Planning modules and themes in blocks so that everyone speaks the same language and mutually strengthens their practices >> cohesion principle.
  • Systematic adaptation of the service to different target audiences >> agility principle.
  • Capitalization for availability >> mutualization principle.

Creation of Training Modules

Creating a qualitative training module is a lengthy process that requires significant investment. They are designed and delivered exclusively in the field for full or half-days.

They can also take the form of a workshop (2 hours among professionals related to the subject and a technical expert in the field) or a thematic afterwork (2 hours at the end of the day with a field specialist) or study trip.
