Jusqu\u2019ici, cette essence \u00e9tait consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme r\u00e9sistante mais comment le douglas va-t-il r\u00e9agir face aux \u00e9pisodes de s\u00e9cheresses qui tendent \u00e0 devenir plus intenses et plus fr\u00e9quents ?<br \/>\nL\u2019objectif de cette \u00e9tude \u00e9tait d\u2019identifier les facteurs climatiques responsables de l\u2019accroissement radial du douglas et de l\u2019\u00e9pic\u00e9a et d\u2019examiner leur r\u00e9ponses respectives aux s\u00e9cheresses estivales.<br \/>\n9 sites situ\u00e9s entre 260 et 600 m d\u2019altitude, et comportant des peuplements mixtes d\u2019\u00e9pic\u00e9a et de douglas ont fait l\u2019objet d\u2019analyses dendrochronologiques (science bas\u00e9e sur l\u2019analyse des cernes de croissance des arbres, en s\u2019attachant essentiellement \u00e0 la mesure de leur largeur, \u00e0 leur description et \u00e0 leur ordonnancement dans le temps).
