Plusieurs mesures ont \u00e9t\u00e9 relev\u00e9es dans des p\u00e9pini\u00e8res, sur des plants cultiv\u00e9s, respectivement sous les pr\u00e9cipitations actuelles et sous s\u00e9cheresse prolong\u00e9e. La capacit\u00e9 concurrentielle de l&rsquo;esp\u00e8ce en comparaison avec le pin sylvestre (le conif\u00e8re indig\u00e8ne le plus r\u00e9sistant \u00e0 la s\u00e9cheresse en Europe centrale) a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9valu\u00e9e pendant trois saisons de croissance.<br \/>\nIl s\u2019av\u00e8re que les jeunes pousses de pin \u00e9tendent rapidement leurs racines vers des couches de sol plus profondes, tandis que le douglas concentre son syst\u00e8me racinaire dans la couche arable, en risquant la dessiccation pendant de longues p\u00e9riodes s\u00e8ches, comme le montre une plus faible survie apr\u00e8s une s\u00e9cheresse estivale simul\u00e9e.<br \/>\nMoser B., Bachofen C., M\u00fcller J., Metslaid M., Wohlgemuth T.
