L\u2019\u00e9tude a port\u00e9 sur quatre ambiances lumineuses diff\u00e9rentes allant de la pleine lumi\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019ombre forte et s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e pendant plus de deux ann\u00e9es de v\u00e9g\u00e9tation.<br \/>\nLes principaux r\u00e9sultats sont les suivants :<br \/>\nSi le niveau d\u2019ombrage affecte significativement la croissance des semis, il ne semble pas avoir une influence sur leur survie.<br \/>\nTant la croissance en hauteur que la quantit\u00e9 de biomasse sont positivement corr\u00e9l\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019intensit\u00e9 lumineuse.<br \/>\nPour les deux essences, l\u2019ombrage implique un plus grand indice de surface foliaire ainsi qu\u2019un facteur d\u2019\u00e9lancement (hauteur\/diam\u00e8tre) plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 ; en revanche, il entraine une moindre \u00e9paisseur de feuilles ainsi qu\u2019un ratio racine\/pousse plus faible.<br \/>\nLa croissance en diam\u00e8tre du ch\u00eane est plus importante que celle du h\u00eatre quel que soit le niveau d\u2019ensoleillement.<br \/>\nLes semis de h\u00eatre pr\u00e9sentent un indice de surface foliaire plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 et une \u00e9paisseur de feuilles ainsi qu\u2019un ratio racine\/pousse plus faibles que les semis de ch\u00eane.<br \/>\nMalgr\u00e9 une croissance apicale plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e en pleine lumi\u00e8re, la pr\u00e9sente \u00e9tude semble mettre en avant l\u2019aptitude des semis de h\u00eatre et de ch\u00eane \u00e0 survivre et \u00e0 s\u2019acclimater m\u00eame lorsque l\u2019ombrage est tr\u00e8s fort (28% de la lumi\u00e8re totale).<br \/>\nSevillano I., Short I., Grant J., O\u2019Reilly C.
