Il donne un acc\u00e8s rapide \u00e0 de nombreuses informations qualitatives et quantitatives sur les rameaux et leur \u00e9volution. En faisant passer le billon dans un scanner, la tomographie \u00e0 rayons X permet d&rsquo;obtenir de fa\u00e7on non destructive des s\u00e9ries de coupes pr\u00e9cises du billon. Des analyses men\u00e9es par l&rsquo;INRA de Nancy ont montr\u00e9 que les images obtenues permettent de bien rep\u00e9rer tous les types de traces ram\u00e9ales. l&rsquo;article d\u00e9taille les diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9tapes de la tomographie \u00e0 rayons X appliqu\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tude des traces ram\u00e9ales, pour parvenir \u00e0 recenser toutes celles-ci, les organiser en s\u00e9quences et mettre en \u00e9vidence les relations structurales entre types ram\u00e9aux. Il analyse ensuite deux types d&rsquo;application. l&rsquo;application \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tude de l&rsquo;effet d&rsquo;une v\u00e9g\u00e9tation d&rsquo;accompagnement sur l\u2019apparition de gourmands. Et l&rsquo;application \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tude de l&rsquo;effet des anciennes explosions de gourmands sur les \u00e9picormiques actuels. Ces types d&rsquo;application montrent les retomb\u00e9es imm\u00e9diates de l&rsquo;utilisation de cette m\u00e9thodologie.
